Problem
Puncture - no spare.
Actual/common cause
Spare is either goosed or AWOL.
Solution
Use rags to pack out the tyre. This is where you face the dilemma of which/whose gear gets ruined! You could even use your sleeping bag as a last resort.
Leave the old inner-tube in to help block the valve hole.
Twist the rags as you would to wring them out and pack them in there as tight as you possibly can. Reassemble the rim.
Lighten the scooter as much as you can or, at the very least, load all your gear as far back on the scooter as you can and put the bodged wheel on the front.
Complications
We really couldn't advocate riding a scooter like this but it will allow you to pop it in gear and idle the engine meaning you can use the clutch and front brake to walk the bike out of tricky situations rather than pushing/dragging it, even if it's just off a busy road. If you ignore the advice given, and decide to ride the scooter, the consequences could be serious.
Podgiest bodge
Putting a plastic bag under the filler cap will help create a vacuum and reduce the petrol flow if you're forced to attempt a repair of the tank/system with the petrol on.
